WHY DOES JOURNALISM MATTER?

Journalism is a fundamental part of today's society. The overall purpose of journalism is to inform as well as persuade people. Journalis is a form of factual writing for newspapers, magazines, and news website such as ABC news, 7 news, 9 news, etc. Journalism involves journalists to gather information on a certain case/event. In order for somebody to be a journalist, they must be open to hearing new ideas and thoughts as well as diverse points of view so they can create an accurate piece of writing.

Journalism is extremely important to keep us all connected and aware of what's going on all around the world. Journalists must write, edit, and then publish posts to the media about pretty much everything that goes on around the world. The integral part of journalism is to be informative to everyone. Without journalism in today's society, people can then form news that might be incorrect or biased, which could lead to disagreements between groups of people whom have different views and opinions. Journalists work incredibly hard in their day to day job, and they put everything they have to gather as much information and sources as possible, to then release it out globally to the public. Being a journalist isn't just as easy as interviewing one person, it requires days worth of findings, as any information that may be rushed/incorrect and then published to the news could cause controversial thoughts from the public.

Another very important part of journalism is students being given the opportunity to learn about journalism. Learning about journalism will provide students with the correct information they need on how to write a descriptive piece of writing, without making it to be too opinuated. I am feeling way beyond grateful to have been given the opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of journalism, as well as what goes on behind closed doors in the journalism industry field of work. I was never really interested in learning about journalism, but now that I have taken place in the class, I have become really invtesed and more interested in daily news globally, as well as political issues occurring in the government. Journalism and the news/media isn't making us agree of disagree with one point of view in a situation, it is just making sure we are informed, and that we understand what the message of the story is portraying.

As a journalist, one of the primary goals is to maintain a platform that informs the public. The role of a journalist is to share specific details about politics, crime, and current events occurring across the world. Although all of these stories are also shared online across various social media platforms, journalism still has a predominant role to ensuring information is addressed online correctly, and that no "fake news" is being shared. Fake news being shared is what could possibly cause confusion and anger to readers. Journalists are required to be as precise as possible when publishing an article, and they are required to keep self-opinions to a minimum standard to avoid being bias and causing controversy. The way a story is told by a journalist can either make or break, meaning that readers can take it in many different ways, and we can all view it from a different point of view.

Journalism is a form of factual writing for newspapers, magazines, news websites or preparing news to be broadcasted online. Journalism is a process where many people gather, assess, create and present news as well as information. There are multiple types of journalism in which people write; investigative, news, reviews, columns and feature writing. Journalism gives individuals the chance to make a difference in this world, which we should all strive for in one way or another. Although journalism doesn't have a great job outlook, the world still requires young, passionate and dedicated journalists to help make a change. Without them, how are we to criticise and be informed about global issues across the world!
